The Black Box story
It started in the dark.
In the fall of 2019, a few friends started baking at night in the Ironton Distillery kitchen, after everyone else had gone home. We called it Black Box: you never quite know what's coming out, but it's always worth opening.
We moved into the Renaissance Hotel banquet kitchen in 2020, landed at Edgewater Public Market in 2022, and now we've built a second home just up the road.
Spastry (n.): space + pastry.
It's our word for what we make: laminated pastries, croissants and breads that look a little unusual and taste out of this world. Plus good coffee to go with them.
